IDS Imaging : U3-3800CP Rev.2.2
Description
Exceptionally high-resolution images with low noise levels ensure the capture of even smallest details: the light-sensitive IMX183 Rolling Shutter CMOS Sensor from Sony’s STARVIS series provides outstanding image quality even under low light conditions thanks to its BSI technology (“back-side-illumination”). With a resolution of 20.44 MP (5536 x 3692 px) at 2.4 µm pixels, it delivers 19.5 fps in the USB3 Vision industrial camera U3-3800CP Rev.2.2. The camera is therefore ideally suited for complex image analysis in applications such as surface and display inspections, medical technology or traffic applications.
The U3-3800CP Rev.2.2 is available in monochrome or color.
This camera model is supported by IDS Vision firmware 2.20 and higher.

Applications
Biotechnology and life sciences
Image processing can be used, for example, to analyze living organisms and biological processes - from swarm behaviour to cell division.
Electronics inspection
Cameras can check the geometry of printed circuit boards, detect the presence and absence of components as well as dirt and inspect solder joints.
Machine vision
Industrial image processing is used in a wide variety of applications - from quality assurance to automation.
Mechanical engineering
From inspection on the production line to controlling entire systems - camera technology helps to ensure smooth processes.
Medical technology (and laboratory automation)
Image processing is indispensable in medical technology. For instance, IDS cameras provide data for diagnostic purposes in ophthalmology or dentistry.
Metrology
IDS cameras detect objects and provide accurate information, such as their dimensions or positioning.
Surface inspection
IDS cameras detect cracks, irregularities or other processing defects in optical quality assurance.
Traffic and transport (ITS)
Keeping an eye on everything - IDS cameras recognize vehicles, check the traffic flow or help with rail and road inspections.
