IDS Imaging : GV-5000FA-P Rev.1.2
Description
The global shutter CMOS sensor IMX253MZR with integrated on-pixel polariser belongs to the Sony Pregius family and ensures better object detection in cases of low contrast or reflective light. Furthermore, it helps to make scratches on surfaces or the stress distribution within transparent objects visible. With a resolution of 12.29 MP (4096 x 3000 px px) at 3.45 µm in size, it achieves 10.0 fps in the GigE Vision uEye FA industrial camera.Due to the polarisation filter, the sensor generates an image with four polarisation directions in a single image. Based on the intensity of each directional polarisation, the polarisation direction and the degree of polarisation of the light source can be determined. Further information can be found in the product data sheet.
This camera model is supported by IDS Vision firmware 2.11 and higher.

Applications
Astronomy
Reach for the stars with IDS cameras - image processing shows information that is difficult or impossible for humans to grasp.
Factory / process automation
Cameras are used in monitoring, control, regulation and optimization systems and help e.g. with localization and selection tasks.
Machine vision
Industrial image processing is used in a wide variety of applications - from quality assurance to automation.
Medical technology (and laboratory automation)
Image processing is indispensable in medical technology. For instance, IDS cameras provide data for diagnostic purposes in ophthalmology or dentistry.
Metrology
IDS cameras detect objects and provide accurate information, such as their dimensions or positioning.
Traffic and transport (ITS)
Keeping an eye on everything - IDS cameras recognize vehicles, check the traffic flow or help with rail and road inspections.
