IDS Imaging : UI-5280FA Rev.1.2

Description

The UI-5280FA ethernet industrial camera is equipped with an IMX264 2/3″ global shutter CMOS sensor and meets the most demanding requirements in terms of light sensitivity and dynamic range, while simultaneously offering very low dark noise. The high NIR sensitivity makes the invisible visible to the human eye and renders a special NIR sensor version obsolete. It delivers high-contrast 5 megapixel images in 5:4 format with a frame rate of 22.0 fps. Special functions such as 30 second long exposures and a line scan mode implemented by IDS extend the range of applications in the factory automation environment. Available in monochrome or color versions.

Applications

Biotechnology and life sciences

Image processing can be used, for example, to analyze living organisms and biological processes - from swarm behaviour to cell division.

Electronics inspection

Cameras can check the geometry of printed circuit boards, detect the presence and absence of components as well as dirt and inspect solder joints.

Endless web inspection

Whether steel, paper or fabrics - IDS cameras always keep an eye on their test object and detect, for example, material defects or stains.

Factory / process automation

Cameras are used in monitoring, control, regulation and optimization systems and help e.g. with localization and selection tasks.

Machine vision

Industrial image processing is used in a wide variety of applications - from quality assurance to automation.

Mechanical engineering

From inspection on the production line to controlling entire systems - camera technology helps to ensure smooth processes.

Medical technology (and laboratory automation)

Image processing is indispensable in medical technology. For instance, IDS cameras provide data for diagnostic purposes in ophthalmology or dentistry.

Pharma and healthcare

By using cameras, it is possible to check e.g. whether packaging is correctly filled and printed or whether there are any impurities.

Surface inspection

IDS cameras detect cracks, irregularities or other processing defects in optical quality assurance.

Traffic and transport (ITS)

Keeping an eye on everything - IDS cameras recognize vehicles, check the traffic flow or help with rail and road inspections.
