IDS Imaging : UI-5880FA Rev.1.2

Description

The UI-5880FA Rev.1.2 GigE CMOS camera with the 1/1.8″ rolling shutter CMOS sensor Sony IMX178 offers an extremely high resolution of 6.4 MP (3088 x 2076 px, aspect ratio 3:2), which is ideal for visualization tasks in microscopy or as a cost-conscious option for intelligent traffic systems (ITS). The sensor from the Sony STARVIS series features BSI technology (“back-side-illumination”) and is one of the most light-sensitive sensors with a low dark current close to the SCMOS range (Scientific CMOS). It can be exposed for up to 120 seconds and also produces impressive results even in extremely low starlight. Together with our GigE industrial cameras, the Sony IMX178 delivers frame rates of up to 18 fps at full resolution. Thanks to the 1/1.8″ sensor size, a wide selection of C-mount lenses is available for the UI-5880FA Rev.1.2 GigE camera model.

The UI-5880FA Rev.1.2 also provides two additional general purpose I/Os (GPIOs). The power supply is provided by the screw-on, dust proof and splash water proof M12 circular connector.

Applications

Astronomy

Reach for the stars with IDS cameras - image processing shows information that is difficult or impossible for humans to grasp.

Factory / process automation

Cameras are used in monitoring, control, regulation and optimization systems and help e.g. with localization and selection tasks.

Machine vision

Industrial image processing is used in a wide variety of applications - from quality assurance to automation.

Medical technology (and laboratory automation)

Image processing is indispensable in medical technology. For instance, IDS cameras provide data for diagnostic purposes in ophthalmology or dentistry.

Metrology

IDS cameras detect objects and provide accurate information, such as their dimensions or positioning.

Traffic and transport (ITS)

Keeping an eye on everything - IDS cameras recognize vehicles, check the traffic flow or help with rail and road inspections.
