Description
The MVL-19050 OTAL-A Infrared Aiming Laser / Illuminator from Morovision is a durable yet compact multi-purpose laser device that features a Mil-Spec anodized aluminum housing and an offset beam that will not be obscured by the front sight of an M4-style rifle. This A-series configuration of the Offset Tactical Aiming Laser (OTAL) is visible up to 5468 yards away and has an infrared output that is visible in daylight and darkness using NVDs.
A collimating lens in front of the OTAL-A laser emitter allows the operator to focus the beam to a 1-mrad width for precise targeting, or the laser can be defocused to flood the night vision scene with IR illumination. This combination illuminator-laser aiming device also has a strobe mode that pulses at a rate of 8Hz to provide a unique signature that comes in handy during close-quarter battle and other engagements when multiple laser devices are likely to overlap within a sector. Further enhancing the functionality of this laser device is finger-adjustable impact point correction that allows the aiming point to be aligned with a reflex sight or other targeting tool.
